A story about the effects of divorce in children age 8 to 10

Julia, Carlos, Nora and Jason tell us what it is like to have divorced parents. Their stories are about the impact divorce has on their lives. Feelings of shame and loyalty to parents can make it difficult for children to talk about their experience, this story shows them that they are not the only ones who have to face these difficulties.

Description

This story is for children between 8 and 10 with divorced parents about the effects of divorce in children. Julia, Carlos, Nora and Jason tell us different stories about what it is like to have divorced parents, and the impact this has on their lives. Their stories are about good changes, and about the difficulties that children face when dealing with divorce. Moving house, missing your father when you're at your mothers house (and the other way around), having to deal with arguments or fighting, and coping with new brothers and sisters.

Although a lot of children have divorced parents, for most of them this is difficult to talk about, because they feel ashamed and loyal to their parents. This story shows that they are not the only ones who have to deal with these changes.
