Description

This story is about a squirrel, called Pierre, that experiences a burglary at his house. This event has a big impact on Pierre. Afterwards he has difficulties going back to his normal happy life. The story shows different symptoms children can have after experiencing a traumatic event. Such as concentration problems, emotional problems, flashbacks and nightmares.

Most children that experience a single traumatic event, recover from these symptoms within a few weeks, with the support of loved ones. The aim of the story is to show this natural recovery process. The story is not about a Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, when post-traumatic stress symptoms keep interfering with daily life for a longer period of time.
